During this fun class I will demonstrate making some wholesome candies and treats great for
special holidays like Christmas, Valentine’s Day and Easter. These recipes became traditions
for us when my children were growing up (and now I make them for my grandchildren).

Some of the unique treats that we will demonstrate making:

  • Holiday Shaped Rice Crispy treats
  • Holiday shaped candies
  • Caramel popcorn,
  • Raw candies & treats

After we started to transition to healthier, more wholesome eating and had removed the highly processed foods from our diet [including white, processed sugar and chocolate etc.], I started looking for some alternative things that I could provide for my children on special holidays like Christmas, Valentines Day and Easter.  The first year I was fortunate to find some fun alternative options at a local health food store [special holiday shaped candies].  I was disappointed that none of the local health food stores carried any of these special treats in later years.  Although I could find special healthy treats, none were in fun holiday shapes.  Maybe it is just another way of falling into the trap of the advertisers that "sell" us on what holidays are all about, but for me it became a desire for some new healthy traditions that would be fun for my kids to enjoy.  This desire set me on a journey to find some things that I could make that would be special for them, that I also felt good about giving them.

At our Candy Making Class, I will be showing a few of the things that we have traditionally made on special occasions over the years. This special class should be lots of fun and will give you ideas for some new holiday traditions that your family can implement every year.
